SSSSSSpack - IADT Minecraft Society

The official modpack for IADT Minecraft Society's 2024 summer server. This pack mixes the old with the new in terms of mechanics, and aims to emphasize player interactions, collaboration, transport networks, and building.

What does it change?

GAMEPLAY: Nostalgiac Tweaks removes hunger and replaces it with instant healing from food, tweaked so that the most healing foods require a bit more work, crafted with mods like Farmer's Delight. Sprinting is disabled, so you move a little slower, but Callable Horses mean you can summon your steed at will, and Create mod trains are a useful investment. With a carefully tailored selection of origins from Origins and Origins++, every player is unique, with weaknesses, powers, and bonuses. Never get stuck in a hole again with Wall Jump - learn how to grab onto walls and you can navigate the world in a whole new way. Enchant your gear in a whole new way with Enchantment System Overhaul - find enchanted books in structures and learn their recipes, then gather their assorted ingredients instead of experience.

EXPLORATION: William Wyther's Expanded Ecosphere enhances vanilla biomes and adds new ones, all with vanilla blocks to reduce inventory clutter, and thanks to Tree Placer you can regrow the custom trees yourself. Alex's Caves brings new mobs and new biomes, supplemented by Alex's Mobs and Naturalist. Visit new worlds: head to the Aether or Twilight Forest to fight bosses and explore. With Spelunkery and Subsurface, caving is completely unrecognizable. Glowing Ores make gems and minerals grab your eye in the underground, but once you have them, you'll have to grind gems on the grindstone.

BUILDING & CRAFTING: With Create mod, automate to your heart's content, and decorate with a littany of new blocks from it, Handcrafted, Supplementaries, and Quark. Build paths for a speed boost with Block Runner, and travel in style with AstikorCarts - bring a chest or a friend along on your horse rides. Take pictures with Exposure, or make your mansion extra grand with Dramatic Doors.

ENVIRONMENT: Serene Seasons brings the passage of time to the world, with snowy winters and orange autumns, but Better Days gives you twice as much daylight each day to enjoy them more, while also speeding up the tick speed (furnaces, crops, etc) when you sleep to make a well-timed nap worthwhile. Weather 2 adds environmental hazards like snowstorms and tornadoes (that don't damage your builds) to add the occasional bit of challenge to keeping yourself and your animals alive.

QUALITY OF LIFE: So so much! Carefully selected changes from V-Tweaks, Forgery, and Collective. Pick up block entities like chests with Carry On. Keep your hotbar and armor with Configurable Death. Tell your pets to sit or explore with Domestication Innovation. Breed fish with Let Fish Love, and fill a Map Atlas with maps to get your own world map. Put your spyglass in a Curio slot, and activate it with a hotkey, or fill a Storage Drawer with hundreds of one kind of item. You can use mending at any time by sneaking with Better than Mending, and enchant your pickaxe with Vein Mining - but Enchantment System Overhaul will mean each enchantment will require a collection of items instead. Upgrade your tools to the next level up with Tinkerer's Smithing.
