True Feral is an immersive expansion for the Shape Shifter Curse mod, configurable and balanced, most focused in playing like a real animal.
Experience what it's really like to be a feral creature. No hands, no inventory - just you, your instincts, and the wilderness. This addon takes the Shape Shifter Curse transformation to the next level, adding authentic animal survival mechanics, focused more in playing like a real feral animal.
True Feral Addon is a overhaul of the feral transformation experience in Shape Shifter Curse. When you transform into your final feral form, you lose access to human conveniences and must adapt to a completely new way of surviving in Minecraft.
Key Philosophy:
Realistic Animal Behavior - No using chests, crafting tables, or tools
Mouth-Only Inventory - Carry items in your mouth like a real animal
Survival Challenges - Weight system, limited carrying capacity, and environmental restrictions
Curl Up - Curl up in the ground and sleep like an true animal
Fully Configurable - Customize every aspect to fit your playstyle
Multiplayer Ready - All features should work in multiplayer servers
When feral, your entire inventory is restricted to a single slot - your mouth. Choose wisely what you carry!
Carry one item at a time in your mouth
Drop items by pressing the drop key
Automatically drops all your items and armor equipped except morphscale based armors and your first slot

Sleep like a true animal - no bed required! Just curl up on the ground when you're tired. How it Works:
Press the Curl Up keybind (configurable)
Your feral character lies down on the ground
Sleep through the night like any other animal
Wake up refreshed when morning comes
Requirements (Configurable):
Must be nighttime or raining
Must be on solid ground

Multiplayer Support:
Works with vanilla sleep percentage gamerule

Light (1 item) - No penalties - perfect for small items like berries
Medium (2-3 items) - Slight slowdown - tools and food
Heavy (4+ items) - Severe penalties - blocks, armor, weapons
Reduced movement speed
Lower jump height

Q: Is this a standalone mod? A: No. This is an addon for the Shape Shifter Curse mod. You must have the base mod installed for this to work.
Q: Who created the original transformation system? A: All credits for the incredible base transformation mechanics go to Onixary, the creator of Shape Shifter Curse. This addon simply expands upon their vision to add more realism.
Q: I found a bug! What should I do? A: Please remember that this is my very first modding project! So a few bugs are expected. Your patience is greatly appreciated!
Q: Can I use this in my modpack? A: Yes! You are free to include this in any modpack on Modrinth or CurseForge, provided you don't re-upload the file elsewhere.
Q: Does it work on servers? A: Yes! It is should be compatible with multiplayer. Both the server and the players need to have the mod installed.
Originally, True Feral was a personal project I created just for myself. I wanted a way to make my solo survival runs more immersives while playing with the Shape Shifter Curse. However, after seeing how much it changed the gameplay, I decided it was too much fun to keep to myself!
