Simply Platinum

Simply Platinum is a mod that adds in platinum as an upgrade to gold using a smithing table. This mod is balanced around vanilla play.

This mod requires the Fabric API. Certain interactions regarding Piglins requires Piglib, which may not be updated for all versions.

Obtainment Details

• Platinum Ore and Deepslate Platinum Ore spawns at the same height as Diamond (Y14 and below) in veins of up to 4 and is about as rare.
• Nether Platinum Ore spawns at the same height as Ancient Debris (Y22 and below) in veins of up to 4 and is about as rare; it drops 2-4 Platinum Nuggets.
• Platinum Ingots can be found as loot in the following structures: Bastion Treasure Rooms, Buried Treasure Chests, Desert Temples, Jungle Temples, Village Temples, Village Toolsmiths, Village Weaponsmiths.

Material Details

• Platinum Swords deal as much damage as Diamond but less than Netherite.
• Platinum Armor offers more protection than Iron, though less than Diamond.
• Platinum Horse Armor offers more protection than Iron and Gold, though less than Diamond.
• Platinum Tools break their respective blocks as fast as Gold.
• Platinum is 3X more durable than Iron and 1/2 as durable as Diamond.
• Platinum has enchantability equal to Gold.
• Platinum Apples grant Absorption 1 for 2 minutes, Haste 1 for 10 seconds, and Strength 1 for 10 seconds.
• Enchanted Platinum Apples grant Absorption 4 for 2 minutes, Dolphin's Grace for 5 minutes, Haste 2 for 20 seconds, Strength 2 for 20 seconds, and Water Breathing for 5 minutes.
• Cleric Villagers have a chance to offer the Journeyman trade of 1 Platinum Ingot -> 1 Emerald.
• Piglins love Platinum items as they do Gold items.
• Piglins are neutral to players wearing any Platinum armor. (requires Piglib)
• Piglins can barter with Platinum ingots. (requires Piglib)

Block Details

• Blocks of Platinum are valid for Beacon bases.
• Blocks of Platinum can be converted into 8 blocks of Cut Platinum with a stonecutter.
