About

The main focus of this mod is a custom Power system in wich players can find the favor of old gods and use their powers.

The main point was to give each player a unique power. So each player can only gain the favor of one god and each god can give its favor only to one player.


This mod was made specifically for a server i wanted to play on with friends, so some features may be a bit out of scope and just included for fun/as a reference to freinds.


Content

Main Mechanic

While playing normaly you can sometimes perform actions that make a specific god take notice of you.

  • They will offer you their power, give you a small boon and a quest to unlock more of their power.
  • When you recieve the power you are bound to that god.
  • When you finish their quest your power is awoken.
  • When an awoken player kills another awoken player he can gain the ascended status.
  • An ascended player that is killed by a player that is atleast awoken, becomes only awoken again.
Bound:

being bound gives you a small passive buff related to your god.

Awoken:

while being awoken you can use a keybind and and a golden idol in your inventory to use an ability related to your god.

Ascended:

while being ascended you can use a keybind and a blessed idol in your inventory to use an ascension/ultimate ability.

Gods:

 

Plant Guardian — God of Plant Life

  • Passive: Plants around you grow faster.
  • Ability: Grow a rose bush that slows and damages entities walking through it.
  • Ascension: A forest sprouts around you.

Mycelium Network — God of Mushrooms

  • Passive: You are immune to poison-like effects.
  • Ability: Place a mushroom that catapults you upward when walked over.
  • Ascension: Apply poison-like effects to everyone around you.

Wild Hunt — God of Animals

  • Passive: Tamed animals around you receive your potion effects.
  • Ability: Heal all tamed mobs around you.
  • Ascension: Summon 10 tamed animals.

Elemental Duality — God of Ice and Fire

  • Passive: You do not take fire or freezing damage.
  • Ability: Summon a frost shield and a fire mace.
  • Ascension: Spew balls of lava and powdered snow in all four directions.

Deep Dweller — God of Mining

  • Passive: Increased mining speed.
  • Ability: Summon a shell of meteorite dust around you.
  • Ascension: Summon a meteor filled with ores from the sky.

Holy Beacon — God of Righteousness

  • Passive: Deal extra damage to undead mobs.
  • Ability: Make all undead around you vanish.
  • Ascension: Summon a burning beam from the sky.

Draconic Heart — God of Dragons

  • Passive: You do not take fall damage.
  • Ability: Gain creative flight for a limited time.
  • Ascension: Shoot Ender Dragon fireballs in all directions.

Endless Void — God of Darkness

  • Passive: You are invisible in darkness.
  • Ability: Turn all light sources into void for a limited time.
  • Ascension: Plunge all players around you into absolute darkness.

Barbaric Ancestors — God of Plundering

  • Passive: You always have at least an armor value of 6.
  • Ability: Ignore negative potion effects for a limited time.
  • Ascension: Ignore all damage for a time, taking all of it at the end.

All-Seeing Eye — God of Truth

  • Passive: You can see invisible creatures.
  • Ability: Apply the glowing effect to everyone around you.
  • Ascension (Passive): You can see who the Yellow King is.

Raging Storm — God of Lightning

  • Passive: Increased movement speed.
  • Ability: Shoot a lightning bolt that may arc to other creatures.
  • Ascension: Rain down lightning on all mobs around you, with a chance to paralyze them.

 

 


The Two Main Gods

There are two extra roles. These cannot be obtained randomly and must be set in the config. They also dont ascend through killing but through actions of other players.

  • The Yellow King is intended to be the main antagonist of the server. This role is meant to remain secret at the beginning and be discovered during gameplay.
  • The Lunar Maiden is intended to be the server admin role.

If you only want to use the power system, you can set the config values to player names that are not part of the server.

The King in Yellow — God of the Sun

  • Passive: You count as the King in Yellow.
  • Ability: Summon a minion.
  • Ascension: Transport yourself and another creature into the core of the sun for a one-on-one fight.

The Lunar Maiden — God of the Moon

  • Passive: None.
  • Ability: Summon a small moon beam.
  • Ascension: Banish a creature to the moon for a limited time.

Blocks

 

Sacreficial Altar:

An altar found in old ruins around the world. You can spend experience levels at it to gain some items from the gods. If you shift right click you pay more experience but the items you can recieve are extended by items from your favoured god.

Celestial Altar:

The crafting block of this mod. Here you can infuse items with the power of the gods. You can rightclick the materials onto the altar or shift right click to take them of. You can view the recipes in jei. Moon Sacrifice recipes can only be done at night and sun sacrifice recipes at day. One spawns at world spawn of every world on a structure.

Crows Nest:

Can be found on leaves around forests. Is mainly decorative and filled with some items.

Meteorite Dust:

A block that is as hard as obsidian but needs a shovel to be broken

Rose Bush:

A block that can be walked through but slows you down and damages you while doing it.

Jump Mushroom:

A block that catapults you into the air when walking on it.

Solar Core:

A block that shoots you away and deals damage to you, when you touch it.

Solar Brick Set:

 

A decorative set of building blocks

Moon Set:

Another decorative set of Building Blocks

Draconic Beacon:

Grants Creative flight in a 20 block radius around it.

Golden Goat:

Can be milked with a horn to fill it with the spirit of the gods.

Protection Effigy:

Stops Hostile mob spawns in a radius and pushes them away

Amanita Galactica Mushroom:

Makes players in an area around it halucinate.

Dormant Echo Crab:

Turns into an Echo crab after some time.

Tessla Coil:

Shoots ligtning beams around it damaging mobs.

Mooncap Mushrooms:

A crop that can be found around the overworld. It only grows at night and only has it maximum growth height at night. It is used to make the moon sacrifice for the celestial altar

Trap:

Can be placed on shovel compatible full blocks. Starts inactive but becomes active after some time. When active. Gives mobs walking on it the pinned effect and then diapears.

 

 

Items

 

Golden Idol:

needed to use abilities

Blessed Idol:

nedded to use ascension abilities. Droped by the King in Yellow Boss Mob

Bound Contract:


Lets you view your current power.

Denial Contract:

Lets you decline your current power, only if you are at the bound stage.

Gem of Freed Soul:

Lets you decline your current power. WARNING: the gods don't like it when a worthy follower denies them.

Scroll of Truth:

can be right click to open an inventory where you can check lore of items

Horned Helmet:

a leather helmet with horns.

Sunray Slicer:

a sword that is a solidified ray of sunlight. has a secret use for the yellow king

Moonlight Glaive:

a sword that deals additional damage to the yellow king and his minions.

Moon Pendant:

A necklace curio, The weakness of the yellow king

Moonlight Jelly:

A food item that removes one level of the yellow feever effect

The true kings crown:

a head curio that reveals the yellow king, when they wear it.

Yellow Ramblings:

The notes of fanatics of the Yellow King. Right click to read them.

Lightning in a bottle:

shoots a lightning bolt that may arc over on use.

Celestial Arrow:

summons a short skybeam when impacting a block

Corrupting Arrow:

gives the yellow fever effect to hit targets

Rage Cookie:

gives the Rage effect for 5 seconds.

Ice Shield:

a shield that sometimes shoots ice shards when hit

Permafrost Shield

summoned by the elemental ability, shoots more ice shards and more frequent

Infernal Mace

A mace summoned by the elemental ability, lights blocks below targets on fire

Chimera Core:

can be used on a Chicken, Goat, Fox, Hoglin, Phantom or Guardian to turn them into a tamed chimera

Leafwalker Pauldrons:

a chest curio that lets you walk through leaves. Breaks while doing it.

Dragon Sleeves:

a chest curio that makes you immune to Ender Dragon fireballs. Breaks while stopping damage.

Solidified Void:

throws a void pearl, that works like an enderpearl but only teleports you if it lands in darkness and is invisible to anyone but you.

Prospectors Shovel:

While digging with this shovel it randomly drops ore drops. Also insta-mines meteorite dust

Horn of godly spirits:

a drink that gives you a few potion effects.

Launcher of Duality:

shoots fireballs in the normal hand and wind charges in the offhand.

Tsukuyaki:

a food item

Mushroom skewer:

A food item that gives the floating effect

Cooked Mushroom skewer.

A food item that gives jump boost.

Decorative Curio Items:
This mod adds a number of decorative curio items for each god(except the main 2).

 

 

Potion Effects

 

Moonbound:

transports the affected creature to the moon (and back without the effect)

Rage:

makes you not take damage but stores the damage that would have been taken to deal once the effect ends

Yellow Fever:

gives you a yellow overlay on screen and makes you hear wild wispers. While having this effect the King in Yellow has a thorns effect against you

Truth Vision:

gives you weakness and less hearts. Makes your vision blurry and everything non yellow gray. Makes you able to see the yellow king

Void Vision:

makes your screen dark except for purple outlines

Pinned:

makes you unable to move, can be removed by sneaking.

Paralyzed:

Slows your movement and makes you unable to use items or break blocks

Spiked:

deals damage to you while you move.

Hallucinations:

Shows you mobs and plays sounds that are not there.

Pheromones:

Makes all mobs around you aggresive towards you.

Timer/Ascension Timer:

just a visual representation of how long your ability lasts. Has no own effect.

 

 

Mobs

 

Crow:

  • A Neutral Fyling mob 
  • Spawns in forests
  • Flies around and eats food items on the ground. 
  • Can be lured with any food item/seeds/gold nuggets.
  • Can be bread with seeds.
  • Can be tamed with gold nuggets.
  • Once tamed attacks mobs for you and collects items around you and brings them to you.
  • Still eats food items though.
  • drops feathers. 
  • Comes in 3 variants: gray, blue and white

Packwing:

  • A passive flying mob
  • Spawn in Forests/LushCaves/Warped Forests/Crimson Forests
  • Breedable with sweetberries and tameable with glowberries
  • Once tamed can be given an item with right click to hold
  • If holding an item named after a player, they will bring that item to the player and then come back
  • Comes in 5 different variants depending on spawn location: Default, Snow Areas, Caves, Nether and End


Salamander:

  • A Passive mob.
  • Spawns in mountainous biomes
  • Can be bread with magma blocks
  • when a smeltable item is laying around them, they run over and smelt it they sometimes
  • drop scales randomly

Echo Crab:

  • A passive mob.
  • Spawns in the Deep Dark
  • They have an echo shard growing on their back that can be harvested with shears
  • If sheared or attacked they will run to the neares sculk sensor and clap their claws to activate it. Hopefully calling a warden.

Solar Beetle:

  • A passive Mob that spawns in the same biomes as illager towers.
  • They grow their horns with sunlight.
  • Sometimes they stand their wings up to collect more sunlight.
  • Once fully grown can be sheared for beetle horns.
  • If fully grown and in sunlight, the horns will turn golden then can be sheared for sun horns.
  • They can be lured with quartz.

Lunar Squid:

  • A Passive flying Mob.
  • Spawns on the moon.
  • When seeing a hungry player on the moon, gives them a tsukuyaki
  • When a player has less then 10 seconds of Moonbound they try to sit on their shoulders to escape with them
  • When in the overworld, they sometimes cling to chests and sort them to their own liking

 

Quetzal:

An Agressive flying mob.

  • Spawns in the nether. 
  • Circles the player sometimes shooting burning feathers and sometimes making physical dive attacks
  • Randomly drops fiery eggs (like chickens)
  • drops burning feathers

Yellow Quetzal:

A version of the quetzal that is a minion of the King in Yellow.

  • Shoots corrupting arrows instead of burning feathers does not drop eggs

Lunar Maiden:

  • gives players the moonlight pendant and the leaves.
  •  Does really dislike the yellow king though

King in Yellow:

  • The boss of this mod.
  • On spawn clears his battlegrounds and builds a floor (this deletes blocks so be carefull)
  • Teleports around, summons minions and shoots sky beams.
  • If above half health summons fanatics and corrupting masks
  • If below half summons Yellow Quetzals and corrupting masks
  • drops the Blessed Totem and rearly a yellow crown

Yellow Fanatic:

  • A hostile mob
  • Runns after players and attacks them.
  • May apply yellow feever on attack.
  • One fanatic per boss may enter praying mode. Sitting on the ground and healing the boss.
  • Drops fanatic ramblings

 

Corrupting Mask:

  • a hostile mob.
  • These hover in place and shoot projectiles that apply yellow feever and deal damage
  • Drop Corrupting shards.

Chimera:

  • A passive mob that can be summoned through the chimera core.
  • can attack with a uardian beam or charge in for melee attacks
  • can be given an item to hold and use as a melee weapon

 

 

Enchantments

 

Helmet:

  • Hungry. Auto eats food.
  • Thinking Cap. Increases exp drops.
  • Deviner. Shows an ui indicator when being targeted by a mob.
  • Sculking. Shows sound particles where sounds appears

Compatability on Helmets: 
Thinking Cap and Aqua Afinity are mutually exclusive Hungry, Deviner and Skulking are all mutually exclusive.

Chestplate:

  • Squid Encounter: When attacked by a living entity summons ink particles and gives blindness.
  • Bulwark: decreases knockback recieved and movement speed
  • Run Away: increases speed proportional to lost health.
  • Last Stand: increases damage proportional to lost health

Compatability on Chestplates:
Squid Encounter, Run Away, Last Stand and Thorns are all mutually exclusive

Legs:

  • Evoking: Spawns evoker mouths when hit.
  • Dash: When hitting shift while in the air propeels you in the current viewing direction.
  • Endurance: Reduces stamina consumption.
  • Charge: deals extra damage while running towards the target.
  • Collecting Pockets: When hit by a thrown or shot projectile, may collect it into inventory. 

Legs Compatability: 
Collecting Pockets and Unbreaking are mutually exclusive
Evoking, Dash, Endurance and Charge are mutually exclusive

Boots:

  • Buoyant: Can stand on liquids except while pressing shift
  • Cloud Step: Gives you a mid-air jump
  • Shrink: shrinks you down while sneaking

Boots Compatability:
Every listed enchantment and feather falling and soul speed are mutually exclusive.

Tools:

  • Reverberating: Destroys same blocks on blockbreak that are adjacent (likevein miner).

Tools Compatability:
Reverberating is mutually exclusive with efficiency and unbreaking

Tools and Melee Weapons:

  • Scorch: autosmelts drops
  • Magnetic: Automatically collects drops

Scorch and Magnetic are mutually exclusive. Additionally Scorch is incompatible with silk touch.

Swords:

  • Soul Rend: deals less damage but ignores armor.
  • Splatter: makes short range projectiles shoot out of the target in the opposite direction of the attacker.
  • Sneak Attack: deals extra damage if attacker and target are at full health

Sword Compatability:
Sweeping Edge, Soul Rend, Splatter and Sneak attack are mutually exclusive.
Fire Aspect is also mutually exclusive with all of those except sweeping edge.

Axes:

  • Frenzy: deals extra damage if the last hit target was also this target
  • Soul Retriever: Grants absorption effect after killing a mob.
  • Cleaving: Increases duration shields are disabled for. (Similar to Comabt Test)

Axe Compatability:
All listed enchantments in this category are mutually exclusive

Hoe:

  • Reaping: steals random potion effect from target.
  • Life Leach: heals you for some of the damage dealt

Reaping and Life Leach are mutually exclusive

Shovel:

  • Pocket Sand: right click to place sand
  • Trap Digger: right click to place trap block

Pocket Sand and Trap Digger are mutually exclusive

Pickaxe:

  • Pickerang: can be thrown to deal damage or break away blocks.
  • Earthen Spike: when right clicking a pickaxe compatible block summons a stalagmite that applies spiked and deals damage.

Pickerang is incompatible with silk touch, reverberate and fortune
Earthen Spike is mutually exclusive with Pickerang

Mace:

  • Dequiping: Does only ever one damage but has a chance to unequip a random armor item from the target. Cant unequip armors with curse of binding.
  • Gravity Implosion: on a smash attack, pulls in mobsaround you.

Mace Compatability:
Dequiping is incompatible with any other enchantment.
Gravity Implosion is mutually exclusive with Wind Burst

Bow:

  • Roped: Pulls hit targets closer towards you
  • Sunray: summons a beam of light when the arrow lands on a block.
  • Pinning: if arrow is fast enough, gives hit targets the pinned effect.
  • Trailing: leaves behind a trail of poison clouds where the arrow flies.
  • Volley: Once a shot arrow reaches a hight of 10 blocks above its starting position it splits into multiple arrows and falls almost straight down.
  • Living Wood: if you dont have arrows left you can shoot arrows that are a bit weaker and ignore all other enchantments.
  • Bullet Time: grants slow falling while holding the bow.

Bow Compatability:
Punch, Flame, Roped and Pinning are mutually exclusive.
Trailing, Volley, Sunray and Bullet Time are mutually exclusive

Crossbow:

  • Echoing: Only loads echo shards. Then shoots warden like echo wave.
  • Sharing: Gives target a random potion effect from the attacker.
  • Galvanizing: Only loads lightning rods. When shooting one makes lightning arcs fly from the target to surrounding mobs.
  • Infested: On impact spawns a silverfish or endermite.
  • Grape Shot: Only loads stone tool materials. Shoots a short range burst of pebbles.

Crossbow Compatability:
All listed Enchantments, Multishot and Piercing are mutually exclusive

Fishing Rod:

  • Yoinking: when hooked on entity that is holding an item in its hand or offhand, reeling in has chance to steal the item unless the target is sneaking.
  • Flash Freeze: when the bobber hits an entity a block of powdered snow is placed.
  • Barbed Hook: when players touch the hook while it is grounded they gain the pinned potion effect. Fishing Rod

Compatability:
Yoinking, Flash Freeze, Barbed Hook and Luck of the Sea are all mutually exclusive

Trident:

  • Fork: regains hunger from dealing damage
  • Poseidon: Wherever the trident lands places a block of water
  • Devils Tool: switches all other aspects to work with lava/the nether instead.

Trident Compatability: 
Fork is mutually exclusive with Riptide 
Poseidon is mutually exclusive with Channeling 
Devils Tool is mutually exclusive with Channeling

Shield:

  • Bouncy: Shield does not block Knockback only damage.
  • Devouring: Consumes hunger of attacker when blocking.
  • Contingency: Teleports you randomly (like chorus fruit) when shield breaks.
  • Immortality: Acts like a totem of undying.

Shield Compatability:
All listed enchantments are mutually exclusive including unbreaking
Spear:

Compatible with spear backport or anything in the minecraft:spear tag

Pheromone Stinger: Applies Pheromone Effect to targets.

 

The Enchantments of this mod are compatible with Immersive Enchanting and Enchantment Descriptions.
