What is Reminiscence?

Reminiscence is a modpack which aims to, much like the other modpacks of this field, combine the gameplay, aesthetics, and general design philosophies of Alpha and Beta versions with the convenience and creative options provided in Release versions.

But, with a twist in the form of content mods which add to the experience.

This modpack is not a 100% accurate Beta experience, and never will be nor will it claim to be. That's right, this isn't 100% nostalgia bait!

It's actually 99% nostalgia bait.

Legacy Aesthetic & Gameplay

• Absence of hunger, sprinting, enchanting, & villagers/villages.
• Beta 1.7.3 terrain generation with all modern biomes (+ customizable presets!).
• Beta lighting.
• Beta textures & sounds (Courtesy of Golden Days, Programmer Art Ultimate, Minecraft: Classic Edition, Programmer Art Continuation Project, & Classic Alternative).
• Optional Alpha textures (Courtesy of Golden Days).

New niches for materials.

• Leather armor provides more movement speed.
• Chainmail armor gives more projectile protection.
• Golden armor gives luck & has buffed stats, almost to diamond level, but with the same crappy durability. Golden tools have silk touch by default.
• Diamond armor gives more blast protection. Diamond tools have efficiency by default.
• Tungsten armor gives more fire protection &, much like Tungsten tools, has unbreaking by default.

Completely new content.

• More in-depth food system with Farmer's Delight (Retextured to fit Beta aesthetic).
• Several dumb-fun features and utilities with Supplementaries (Retextured to fit Beta aesthetic).
• Backpacks with INMIS.
• The Aether (C'mon. I had to include it).
• Copper armor & tools. Copper tools have fortune/looting by default.
• Reworked structures with YUNG's mods.
• Reworked journey to the End with End Remastered, with a few changes to make a few eyes obtainable yet again (due to the absence of enchanting & villagers)
• Reworked Ender Dragon fight with True Ending: Ender Dragon Overhaul by limesplatus.
• Overhauled Nether with Amplified Nether.
• Overhauled End. You will love it.

Upcoming Content.

• A plethora of uses for materials; Emerald, Amethyst, Copper, Phantom Membrane, etc.
• Upgrades to introduced (yet half-baked) vanilla mechanics.
• Possibly biomes from other legacy versions (PE, Infdev, etc.).
• Potential biomes added from other biome mods.
• Features from future versions ported.
