Mountain Ores

MountainOres is a Fabric mod designed for Minecraft worlds with dramatically increased height limits. When using terrain generation datapacks that create mountains reaching up to Y=2032, vanilla ore generation stops at the standard world height, leaving vast mountain ranges completely devoid of resources.

The Problem:

Vanilla Minecraft only generates ores up to around Y=320. With extended world height datapacks, players exploring towering peaks find no ores whatsoever, making high-altitude survival frustrating and unrewarding.

The Solution:

MountainOres adds a carefully balanced ore distribution system that scales with altitude:

• Underground (Y ≤ 63): Maintains vanilla-like ore spawning with slight adjustments
• Low Mountains (Y 64-300): Common ores like Coal, Iron, and Copper spawn frequently
• Mid Mountains (Y 300-700): Ore frequency decreases, veins become smaller
• High Peaks (Y 700-1100): Only Iron and Copper remain, becoming increasingly rare
• Extreme Peaks (Y 1000+): Gold and Emeralds appear as rewards for reaching the highest elevations

Vanilla Override Mode: When enabled, MountainOres completely replaces vanilla ore generation. This prevents datapacks from interfering with ore spawning and ensures consistent resource distribution across your entire world.

Rare Lodes:

Occasionally, players may discover large ore deposits ("lodes") containing significantly more resources than standard veins—a rewarding jackpot for dedicated miners.

This mod is specifically designed to complement height-extending datapacks while preserving balanced gameplay progression.
