A simple mod to replace blocks with other blocks.
Block Replacer is a mod that lets you replace blocks in the world (upon chunk generation) with another block. The main intention of this mod is block deduplication. Imagine you have Biomes O' Plenty and Regions Unexplored at the same time. Well, you'd have 2 different sets of multiple wood types which is inconvenient, with this mod, you can only keep one set by replacing the other.
All info on how to replace a block is located in the blockreplacer.json5 config.
NOTE: This mod has no retroactive capibilities, it will only replace newly placed/generated blocks since it's install.
I tested a config that replaces all stone blocks in the world with blocks of diamond and the performance hit was negligable. This is partially due to the fact that the mod intercepts the methods that sets the blocks during chunk generation and do the replacement directly there so it's almost as if nothing changed.
You may include this mod into your own modpacks as long as it is distributed through CurseForge, Modrinth, or any other recognized mainstream modding platforms that may exist in the future.
Not quite. This mod is significantly simpler in implementation as all it does is replace blocks. It doesn't have a state swapper, or an ID remapper. Currently, Block Swap is getting a revamp for 1.21.1 but since the Author is busy and the scope of the mod has increased, it will be quite a while before that happens. I would like to state that this is not a port of blockswap nor is it a good alterative for it. I only made this mod because I needed a block replacer.
