About
IBRealistic is a realism-heavy fork built specifically for boat racing / rally. The goal is simple: make boats feel like vehicles you can actually drive — not just slide around.
What changes (in a good way)
- 4-wheel car-style physics on a boat: forces are calculated per wheel (FL/FR/RL/RR), so the boat reacts naturally to turning, braking, and accelerating — including load shifting.
- Weight transfer that you can feel: throttle, braking, and cornering move grip around, so the boat “bites”, pushes wide, or rotates depending on what you do.
- Traction isn’t binary anymore: grip fades progressively near the limit, which makes drifts controllable instead of random.
- Drivetrain matters: choose between FWD / RWD / AWD behavior, including AWD torque split.
- Differentials matter too: open / locked / LSD-style behavior affects how the boat rotates under power and how it exits corners.
- Surface system for racing maps: 17 handling presets (dry/wet asphalt, gravel, dirt, snow, ice, sand, etc.). The mod can auto-classify 300+ blocks into surface types, and you can override mappings for custom tracks.
- Weather-dependent grip: rain / heavy rain / snow / fog presets can change traction, so “same corner, different conditions” becomes a real thing.
- Handbrake for rally moves: Jump can act as a handbrake (when realistic physics is enabled), letting you throw the rear out for tight turns.
Why it’s great for competition
It gives you repeatable, learnable handling: you can practice lines, braking points, and drift angles — and the boat responds consistently. Track builders also get real tools (surface & weather grip) to make stages that feel different without gimmicks.

- It’s a fork of OpenBoatUtils, NOT keeping the same spirit but pushing the handling much closer to “rally car on a track”.
