authlogic

simple and effective hybrid authentication system for modded servers.

for players

  1. install the mod
  2. have an official account? that's it!
  3. don't have one? enter your password once during setup

DO NOT SHARE YOUR AUTHLOGIC FOLDER!

for admins

  1. install the mod
  2. set online-mode to false
  3. (optionally) configure whitelist

DO NOT SHARE YOUR AUTHLOGIC FOLDER!

how it works

  1. player uses password to generate a unique per-server key
  2. server sends own public key
  3. player verifies server’s key and sends own public key
  4. server verifies player’s key
  5. authentication complete

why it's secure

  • password never leaves your computer
  • uses asymmetric keys to verify identities
  • login process is encrypted
